Fix Up
A fix up, that's all they needed! These are the results of many hard hours put into following Miss's simple instructions. These were the two people used as my guinea pigs to help me try and figure out how to apply the utilities in Lightroom onto these images to make them look just as spectacular as they are rate now. For the man in the yellow, the thing that popped out most to me was the fact that EVERYTHING was yellow. So that is what I focused on the most, bringing the colour back. The fact that everything was yellow also made his teeth a bit extra yellow, so I brushed his teeth with a whitening brush for him along with a bit in his eyes to make him look a bit less drugged out or sleepy. As for the man in the hat I focused more on cleaning him up because he didn't seem like he had much colouring wrong with him. I healed his face of most acne and smoothed his skin a bit, put some white in his smile, and finished him off by shading the jaw to give him a more defined one. |
My Bike
I picked these two photos for my bike assignment because I really enjoy looking at the very small things and parts of how machines work. I enjoy turning up the texture and shadows to look at all the dust on the bikes gears and handles. I tried to get in close to the certain parts I liked on my bike to get the best shot with some depth of view to top it off and really make the photo pop. It is very pleasing to the eye when you can see every nook and cranny in the image.

Patterns
I chose this picture to represent my patterns portion of my page for obvious reasons, it looks the best of course! Besides that, the real reason it looks good is because the angle and position of where I was when I spotted this picture. I noticed the glow from the sun shining through the atrium's big window, it was hitting the wood perfectly to give it a nice warm feel to it. On top of that I added some edits upped the texture on certain parts, brightened the sun a bit, and fixed some broken spots to make it look as good as it does now.

I selected this picture to represent my patterns section of my Lightroom page because I find something fascinating about mass amounts of line heading in the same direction to the point where they disappear in a blur. I feel that a blur really adds character and depth to the picture. I saw these things on the wall in the school and knew instantly what to do. All I needed to do to fix it up was make the blur a bit dull out the rods a bit, and then fixed up a crack in the lines. Viola now it is perfect.

Autumn
This picture took place when I went on a lovely road trip with my family up passed London (I hate road trips by the way). We went down a long gravel path finding a bunch of colorful leaves. The leaves we found looked very nice together, so, I took a close up of them, trying to get the vibrant red and orange colour resonating off of them.
With a nice green background, and a bit of touching on the vibrancy in editing, I made a very nice photo of these fresh autumn leaves. |
This picture happened on the same road trip as the other autumn picture. I was apparently really feeling myself that day because of all the pictures I took. I had seen that the wheat crops that had just been yielded were at their birth of growing. This made a nice green looking field that went on for a couple kilometers. It looked so nice, like it would go forever with small hills every so often, it looked like something out of a movie. It was a day after rain as well, this made the grass look very green, however i also had to get on my stomach in the mud to get this picture. This picture didn't need much editing it was very nice the way it was.

Giving Thanks
I chose this picture of my sister petting this horse because I am thankful for everything I have and am able to do. This picture was taken just before my family went on a horseback ride. I took this to show that I am thankful for my sister and everything she has done for me, even if some of that "everything" wasn't very good. The other half in which I am thankful for everything I am fortunate enough to be able to do. We were able to go horseback riding, an I am thankful that I got to spend that time with my family.

I chose this picture because it is a photo of my family, something I am very thankful for. If I didn't have them who knows what I would be like today, defiantly not like this that's for sure. This photo was taken a day after my step sister was engaged, so we all got to take a picture before she went back to Ottawa. We got to spend time all together, however, it doesn't always last. I chose this picture because I am thankful for the time we got to spend together and for what they have all done.

Halloween Pictures
I chose this halloween picture because I thought having a fake pumpkin in a tree was funny yet poetic in a way. Adding the leaves was used to create more of a spotlight for the orange to stand out with the depth of view from the nice orange and yellow leaves in the background. I edited it by not white balancing it because I felt it looked better without the white balance, I then turned up most things a small bit like clarity and texture. I finished up by adding more saturation, and turning up the green, yellow, and red saturation on the image to make the leaves colour more noticeable.

The reason I chose this picture is because it was a good memory of when my friend Evan, and me attended a Halloween party as Garth and Wayne from the movie Wayne's world. The way I edited this picture was by going for a kind of Old / Scrap book look. It was easy to do because the picture was a bit dark to begin with. So I turned up the brightness a bit as added a slight gradient while turning down the clarity a bit, as well as the texture up. I liked the blur to make it look a bit more spontaneous which added to the picture more.
